This was shot at around Bristol Harbour in about 30 mins, with Gavin Strange (www.jam-factory.com) and his bike Liberace.
This is the first footage that I’ve shot with my JVC Everio HD5 and JAG35E DOF adapter. Together with the camera and adapter I used a Canon F1.8 50mm lens.
On April 10th 2009 the Recoat Gallery in Glasgow hosted Xynthetic’s first group show north of the border. Four members of the collective traveled from Bristol to Glasgow to meet up with Klingatron to attend the show. Including artwork from Jam Factory, Waste, Pone, Klingatron, China Mike, Richt, 45RPM, Sums, Mr Jago, Wheatfree and Makinov. This film follows the journey from the south to the north and the opening night of the show.

Another of the videos I edited for the BBC’s Frozen Planet extra web content.
For over 60 years South Georgia meant whaling and over 175,000 dead whales were processed on the island. The largest whale ever caught was landed here. A 33.58 metre long blue whale, it was larger than a dinosaur.
The whaling station closed in 1965 and Simon Nash looks at whether the island’s wildlife has now reclaimed the seas where this industry once took place.
More of the work I edited for the BBC’s Frozen Planet web content.
Simon Nash is visiting the Antarctic Island of South Georgia, once one of the most important whaling sites on the planet. Now the whaling stations stand abandoned and decaying as the island’s wildlife reclaims them. But the Norwegian whalers who worked here left behind unusual and unwanted gifts.

The 2nd of my latest edits for the BBC’s Natural History Unit. This video features a Royal Marine explaining the tough trek that the marines face when trying to emulate the excursion known as the Shackleton Walk on the island of South Georgia.
I was lucky enough to work with the BBC’s Natural History Unit again recently on web content related to their forthcoming ‘Frozen Planet’ series (due 2011). I did 4 edits in all, these were shot by veteran cameraman and producer Simon Nash, who has worked on Elephant Diaries, Diving with Dolphins and Planet Earth. This piece concerns the logging of Fur Seal numbers on the island of South Georgia.
The third of my edits for the BBC series Nature’s Great Events went live on YouTube this week. To bring you up to speed, I was asked to create a few edits that would hopefully appeal to a wider audience than that usually tuning into the BBC Natural History output. I think that was achieved. There’s one more edit to follow, and I’m currently working on some other bits for the Beeb, so will post when available. In the meantime, sit back and enjoy Jeff and the Bears, featuring the brilliant Jeff Turner trying to capture footage of Canadien Grizzlys in the wild while they repeatedly impede his progress!
